Beograd, Serbia Electors in Serbia go to the public opinion poll Sunday in an election that could shape the country’s future only as the state of Kosovo plans to announce independence.
The vote’s final result could find out whether Serbia forges near ties with the European Union or drifts farther toward Russia by embracement a descriptor of patriotism that colorized bloodshed in the Balkans in the 1990s.

Bulgarian capital, Bulgaria Bulgaria and Russia sign a trade Friday to make a natural gas grapevine that would undercut a competitor project backed by the U.S. and European Union and beef up the Kremlin’s laterality over EU free energy supplies.
The understanding came after visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin forced hard to procure Bulgaria’s important participation in the protruding South Stream grapevine, which would cross from Russia under the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then branch off for bringing deeper in Europe.
